Terms & Conditions
Terms governing your use of the Essential Protection Films website, online store, shipping, pickup, returns, and warranties.
Last updated: September 8, 2026 · Effective: September 8, 2026
1. Agreement to Terms
These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the Essential Protection Films (“EPF,” “we,” “us”) website, online store, and related services (the “Services”). By accessing or purchasing from the Services, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Services.
These Terms form a binding agreement between you and EPF. Additional terms may apply to promotions, warranties, or installer programs and will be presented where relevant.
2. Eligibility & Accounts
You must be at least 18 years old and able to form a binding contract to place orders. You are responsible for accurate account information and for keeping login credentials confidential. You are responsible for activity under your account.
3. Products & Descriptions
We sell automotive paint protection films, kits, and related supplies. Product images, finishes, thicknesses, and descriptions are provided for convenience; actual appearance may vary by batch, lighting, vehicle substrate, and professional installation. We reserve the right to correct errors, update specifications, and limit quantities.
Professional installation is recommended for most products. Improper installation, storage, or use may void warranty coverage and is at your risk unless otherwise stated in a written warranty.
4. Orders, Pricing & Payment
Prices are displayed in U.S. dollars unless stated otherwise and may change without notice before you complete checkout. An order is an offer to purchase; we may accept or decline orders for any lawful reason (including suspected fraud, inventory limits, pickup-stock limits, or pricing errors).
Payment is processed by our third-party payment provider (e.g., Stripe). By submitting payment information, you represent that you are authorized to use the payment method. Sales tax and shipping are calculated as described in our Sales Tax Policy and Shipping Policy. Shipping charges, if any, are shown before you pay.
5. Fulfillment: Shipping & Local Pickup
At checkout you may be offered shipping and/or local pickup, depending on availability, location, and inventory. The method you select becomes part of your order. Shipping details are governed by our Shipping Policy; local pickup terms appear in section 5B below.
5A. Shipping & Risk of Loss
When you choose shipping, we ship within the United States from our Illinois warehouse as described in our Shipping Policy. Delivery estimates are not guarantees. Title and risk of loss pass to you upon delivery to the carrier, except where prohibited by law. Please inspect packages promptly and report carrier damage according to our Shipping Policy and support instructions.
5B. Local Pickup
When you choose local pickup, you select one of our offered pickup points. Each location maintains stock by product; if a location cannot fulfill every item and quantity in your cart, it will not be available and you may need to reduce quantities, choose another point, or switch to shipping.
After we confirm your order, we will notify you (typically by email) when it is ready for pickup. You must collect the order within the timeframe stated in that notice or in checkout instructions (or within a reasonable time if none is stated). Bring a government-issued photo ID matching the name on the order if we request it. We may refuse release to anyone who cannot verify authority to collect.
Title and risk of loss for pickup orders pass to you when the order is released to you (or your authorized representative) at the pickup point. If you do not collect a ready order within the stated window, we may cancel the order and refund eligible amounts, restock the goods, or charge a reasonable storage/restocking fee where permitted by law and disclosed to you.
Pickup hours, addresses, and instructions shown at checkout or in your order confirmation control unless we notify you of a change. Pickup is not available for every product, quantity, or location.
6. Returns, Exchanges & Cancellations
Unused, unopened products in original packaging may be eligible for return within 30 days of delivery (for shipped orders) or within 30 days of pickup (for local pickup orders), subject to our then-current return policy communicated at checkout or by support. Opened film rolls, cut kits, custom/pre-cut items, and clearance goods are generally final sale unless defective.
To start a return or report a defect, contact support@essentialppf.com with your order number. Approved returns may receive a refund to the original payment method minus any non-refundable shipping, restocking (if disclosed), or payment fees where permitted by law. Order cancellations after shipment, or after a pickup order is marked ready or collected, may be treated as returns.
For pickup orders that have not yet been collected, contact support promptly if you need to cancel; we will advise whether cancellation is still available before release.
7. Limited Warranty
Certain products include a limited manufacturer warranty as described on the product page or warranty documentation (duration and coverage vary by SKU). Warranties typically require professional installation and proper care. Warranty claims are handled per the written warranty terms and do not cover damage from misuse, accidents, improper install, incompatible chemicals, or normal wear outside stated coverage.
EXCEPT AS EXPRESSLY PROVIDED IN A WRITTEN WARRANTY, PRODUCTS AND SERVICES ARE PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE,” TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW. WE DISCLAIM ALL IMPLIED WARRANTIES, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.
8. Acceptable Use
You agree not to misuse the Services, including by attempting unauthorized access, scraping at abusive rates, introducing malware, infringing intellectual property, or using the site for unlawful purposes. We may suspend or terminate access for violations.
9. Intellectual Property
All site content, branding, logos, product names, designs, and software are owned by EPF or our licensors and protected by U.S. and international intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works without prior written consent, except for limited personal, non-commercial use of publicly available pages.
10. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, EPF AND ITS OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, AND AGENTS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICES OR PRODUCTS.
OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING OUT OF THESE TERMS OR THE SERVICES WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID TO EPF FOR THE PRODUCT(S) GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM, OR (B) ONE HUNDRED U.S. DOLLARS (US $100). SOME JURISDICTIONS DO NOT ALLOW CERTAIN LIMITATIONS; IN THOSE CASES, LIABILITY IS LIMITED TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED.
11. Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless EPF and its affiliates from claims, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising from your misuse of the Services, violation of these Terms, or infringement of any right of another party.
12. Governing Law & Disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Illinois, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Except where prohibited, you and EPF agree to attempt good-faith resolution of disputes by contacting legal@essentialppf.com before filing a claim.
Subject to applicable law, exclusive venue for disputes will be state or federal courts located in Illinois, and you consent to personal jurisdiction there. IF YOU ARE A CONSUMER, YOU MAY HAVE ADDITIONAL RIGHTS THAT CANNOT BE WAIVED IN YOUR STATE OF RESIDENCE.
Class action waiver: to the fullest extent permitted by law, disputes will be brought only in an individual capacity and not as a plaintiff or class member in any purported class or representative proceeding.
13. Privacy & Other Policies
Our collection and use of personal information is described in our Privacy Policy. Sales tax practices are described in our Sales Tax Policy. Shipping practices are described in our Shipping Policy. Returns are described in our Returns Policy. Cookie practices are described in our Cookie Policy. Accessibility information is in our Accessibility Statement. California residents may use our Do Not Sell or Share page. By using the Services, you acknowledge those policies.
14. Changes
We may update these Terms by posting a revised version with an updated date. Material changes may be highlighted on the site. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance, except where additional consent is required by law.
