How Essential Protection Films collects sales tax on U.S. online orders.

1. Overview

This Sales Tax Policy explains how Essential Protection Films (“EPF,” “we,” “us”) collects sales tax on orders from our U.S. online store. EPF is based in Illinois. Tax at checkout follows the rules below unless a verified exemption applies.

2. Illinois Orders

By law, we collect Illinois state and local sales tax on all orders shipped to an Illinois address, and on local pickup orders fulfilled in Illinois. The rate shown at checkout is the combined state, county, city, and any special district tax for your delivery or pickup location.

3. Orders Outside Illinois

We do not collect sales tax on orders shipped to addresses outside Illinois. Your purchase may be subject to use tax in your own state. As the buyer, you are responsible for reporting and paying any use tax due.

4. Tax-Exempt Purchases

If you are tax-exempt (resale, government, non-profit, etc.), email your Illinois exemption certificate to support@essentialppf.com before ordering. We will remove tax after verification. Tax cannot be refunded after an order is completed.

5. Tax on Shipping

Shipping and handling charges on Illinois orders are subject to sales tax. For orders shipped outside Illinois, shipping is not taxed. Local pickup has no shipping charge; merchandise tax still applies when the order is taxable under Illinois rules.
