1. Overview
This Privacy Policy describes how Essential Protection Films (“EPF,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, discloses, and protects personal information when you visit our website, create an account, place an order, or otherwise interact with our online store and related services (the “Services”).
We designed this Policy for customers and visitors in the United States, including rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended by the CPRA (“CCPA”), and similar state privacy laws where applicable.
2. Information We Collect
We may collect the following categories of personal information:
- Identifiers — name, email address, phone number, billing address, shipping address (for delivered orders), account ID.
- Fulfillment choices — whether you select shipping or local pickup, and which pickup location you choose when pickup is offered.
- Commercial information — products viewed or purchased, order history, cart contents, payment status (we do not store full payment card numbers; card data is processed by our payment processor).
- Internet / network activity — IP address, browser type, device type, pages visited, referring URLs, and cookie/SDK identifiers.
- Geolocation — approximate location derived from IP address for tax, shipping/pickup eligibility, and fraud prevention.
- Inferences — preferences inferred from browsing or purchase history (for example, product interest).
- Communications — messages you send via contact forms, chat, email, or support tickets.
3. Sources of Information
We collect information directly from you (orders, account registration, checkout fulfillment choices, forms), automatically through cookies and similar technologies, and from service providers such as payment processors, shipping carriers, analytics providers, and fraud-prevention tools.
4. How We Use Information
We use personal information to:
- Process and fulfill orders, payments, shipping, local pickup, returns, and warranties.
- Allocate limited pickup inventory at the location you select and notify you when an order is ready for pickup.
- Provide customer support and respond to inquiries.
- Create and manage accounts, wishlists, and saved preferences.
- Send transactional emails (order confirmations, shipping updates, pickup-ready notices, and pickup reminders).
- Send marketing communications where permitted (you may opt out anytime).
- Improve our website, products, and services; perform analytics.
- Detect, prevent, and investigate fraud, security incidents, and abuse.
- Comply with legal obligations, including tax and recordkeeping.
- Enforce our Terms & Conditions and protect our rights.
5. How We Disclose Information
We may disclose personal information to:
- Service providers / processors — payment (e.g., Stripe), hosting, email, analytics, customer support, shipping carriers, warehouse/pickup operations, and fraud tools, under contracts that limit use of your data.
- Business transfers — in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets.
- Legal / safety — when required by law, legal process, or to protect rights, safety, and security.
- With your direction — when you ask us to share information or use a connected feature.
We do not sell personal information for money. We may disclose information to service providers as described above, and we may use analytics or marketing technologies as described in our Cookie Policy when you allow those categories.
7. Retention
We retain personal information for as long as needed to provide the Services, comply with legal obligations (including tax and warranty records), resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. Retention periods vary by data type and purpose. When no longer needed, we delete or de-identify information where reasonably practicable.
8. Security
We implement reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. Please use a strong unique password for your account and contact us immediately if you suspect unauthorized access.
